@flywiththesrys's Review of Irassae - Huntington Beach, CA

Today, we're trying this spot in Huntington Beach, California. The first item that came out was the next time roll. 8.5 out of 10, super fresh and lots of flavor. But we didn't know that the base was a chili oil, so Nadia was struggling. Next, the fried calamari came out. The breading was nice and light and the squid had a good bite to it. 8.5 for us. Next, I got my favorite fish. Don't fight me. The mackerel. I've tried mackerel in Japan and I know they are in a league of their own, but this was a solid eight out of 10 for the states. Next, we tried their new Huntington Beach roll. It's not even on the menu yet, but the waiter recommended it, and wow! This was my personal favorite, 9 out of 10. This one also had a chili oil base though, so Nadia's still out here struggling. Last, we tried their dragon roll. We got the chili oil on the side for this one, so at least Nadia had one roll she could fully enjoy. This is not your typical dragon roll where you expect the unagi. We really gotta learn to read the menus closer, but still a solid 8 out of 10. And of course, we gotta have that mountain of ginger at all times. Definitely would come back here.
