Are tickets to France too expensive? Well, you can have a chic Parisian experience in your own backyard at Brasserie Mamère in Closter, New Jersey. I'm stretching my birthday out for as long as I can and went here for a birthday brunch. Entering this place is like being transported to a Parisian bakery. I love the charming decor with penny tiles, vintage mirrors, and a display case filled with exquisite pastries. I happened to be there on National Eggs Benedict Day, so they had lots of specials. I had the short ribs Benedict. The meat was very tender and flavorful. and they used brioche for the base, which added a unique twist. We also got a Belgian waffle and escargot for the table. The waffle was fluffy and crisp and the escargot had a perfect garlic butter sauce. Some other dishes we had were the avocado toast and various pastries. My favorite pastry was the kunaman, which is very confusing to pronounce. You have to try it. I couldn't get any footage of it because it kept on disappearing into our mouths. There was a separated space as well, which would be great for small celebration. and showers. Overall, my experience at Brasserie Mamere was great. I give it an 8 out of 10 because I wish it was open for brunch on Saturdays and opened earlier than 11 on Sundays. But I'd definitely be back.
