Driving past the Lake Mead, just outside Las Vegas, about 45 minutes, you will arrive Hoover Dam. It's great for the half-day tour outside the casino. You can do the self-guided tour for $10, guided power plant tour for $15, guided dam tour for $30. They open daily 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. closed at 4 15 p.m. Just make sure you purchase Tiki online, save you some time. Hooper then sitting on the Black Canyon of the Colorado River on the border between the U.S. states of Nevada and Arizona. It was constructed between 1931 and 1936 during the Great Depression and was dedicated September 30, 1935 by the president. At the time, it was named Border Den by Roosevelt administration. The Hooper Den name was restored by the Congress in 1947. You can absolutely still walk across the top of the Hooper Den for free. In fact, you don't even have to pay for it. However, if you want to see inside the den, you won't have to buy the ticket for the guided tool. There is a gift shop and a cafe on site. If you are thirsty or hungry, there is a coffee shop that you can grab a bite, grab drinks while you're shopping for a souvenir. There are many tool bus that will take you from the Strip to Hoover Dam. Check it out. You don't need to rent a car to get to Hoover Dam.
