On a day where I took my first business class flight to Japan, and air traffic control nearly derailed the whole thing. This is Japan Trip, day one. And I'm Dan Thomas. Yes, I am. And who's missed this little animation? I know I have. And I'm going to be taking you on a grand tour of Japan, but not starting in Tokyo like everyone always does, but actually Okinawa, the Hawaii of Japan. Now, of course, I'm not going to get there without a bit of work. So starting in London, I was fortunate enough to be on a business class flight today, which meant I got to use the galleries lounge. It was busy, but clean, and the food quality was decent. Now I've never been on a business class flight before so today's my first time. I'm going to take you with me. And with UK air traffic control descending into chaos this trip was nearly over as soon as it started. But the IT guys turned it off and on again and delayed by two hours I was able to find my way to my seat with white company bedding and drawer for the 15 accessories I think are necessary for a flight. Now I was excited about this but my expectations weren't really met. The partition between me and my neighbour broke. Everything just seemed really dusty and greasy. The touch screen was barely And it just didn't feel worth the money. That said, the food was good, but I never saw the promised dessert. And what made a huge difference was the lie flatbed, which helps you cut right through the 13 hour flight. Little plane tip for me, if you want to use your own Bluetooth headphones for watching films, get one of these adapters, it's brilliant. And after a film and a little sleep, you'll soon be there. Time for breakfast now, which was a surprisingly good full English. As I looked out the window to see us sailing past Mount Fuji. And you'll also get this accessories bag from the White Company, complete with eye mask. And these itchy socks we've decided you have to wear on planes for some reason briefly touching down in Tokyo now it was time to go and get my first souvenir of the trip a station stamp what's a station stamp I hear you ask go and watch this video to find out and now it was time to get on a Japan Airlines flight to Okinawa and I have to say Japan Airlines in premium economy was nicer than British Airways business it was cleaner the electronics were all working the service was warmer this was everything I wanted from BA touching down in Okinawa now and time for another station stand before finding my way to my hotel with its two queen beds, this amazing view of the Pacific, did you see the flying fish, and private spa looking out to the ocean. And of course it wouldn't be a Japanese hotel without the famous electronic toilet. Time to hit up Okinawa now where it's Christmas all year round and everywhere you look you'll find a little bit of Japanese eccentricity.
