@hungere-for-diy's Review of Hemingways Ol Seki Mara - Nairobi, Nairobi County

Have you been to Hemingway's Oseki Mara Camp in the Naiboisha Conservatory yet? This was my first safari and I didn't know what to expect. We left from Wilson Airport and took this tiny plane for just under an hour before landing on a dirt airstrip. Amos, who was our guide and driver for this day, picked us up and we arrived at our camp just a short 15 minutes later. We were greeted by Debbie, who was a phenomenal host. She gave us the lay of the land and some information about Oseki Hemingway's. We had gotten in around 3 p.m. we had some time to settle into our tent first we were staying in nina 8 which i really liked because it was one of the furthest ones out so we got to have a lot of peace and quiet the room was immaculate with these beautiful windows outdoor seating we even had a little couch and in the bathroom it featured an indoor shower and an outdoor shower and a bathtub it was such a lovely place to call our home for the next few days our patio opened up to the wild so we actually saw some baboons walking around from time to time. Our mini fridge came fully stocked and there was even laundry service included. The only thing that I had to wash myself were my undergarments but they provided laundry soap. Around 4.30 we met with Almos again and set out for our first game drive. We just had to follow this path down for a few minutes. I honestly didn't know what to expect but I was blown away. Almos was super knowledgeable about all the animals and we saw so many different things in the wild on our first game drive almost taught us that the game drives are supposed to be poli poli which means slowly slowly you're supposed to just sit back and see what nature has to offer you it felt so surreal and i couldn't wait to see what the mara had to offer us for the next couple of days when we got back around 7 30 we got to have dinner dinner here was amazing i was blown away by the food i found out that the groceries are only delivered once a week a chef that can cook kind of food with limited access to groceries has to be a master chef. In the evenings after the sun sets, you do have to get security to walk you back and forth from the rooms just as a safety precaution. We got back to the room and passed out for the night.
