The next time you're in the Phoenix area, you have to stop by Lolo's Chicken and Waffles. This black owned restaurant is clean and spacious with plenty of indoor seating and the option to sit outside on their cover patio. Their menu is full of soul food dishes, all day breakfast, appetizers, hood classics, which comes with the chicken and waffles and more. And guess what? They have Kool-Aid on tap and you can order one or more flavor of the jar drinks. I had a chance to try the fried greens. tomatoes, which comes with slices that are big enough to be shared amongst a few people. I also ordered the shrimp and grits, and the portion size was huge and it smelled amazing. It comes with jumbo fried shrimp on top and is full of mushrooms, cheeses, seasonings, along with a homemade biscuit, and it also can be sheeted. The chicken and waffles are so good. The chicken is fried and seasoned perfectly, and the waffles almost taste cake-like. I had the KK's Hood Classics, which came with the waffles, chicken, fritz, egg, eggs with cheese and onions. Finish off your meal with their banana pudding and enjoy!
