What is New York known for? It's pizza? Is it known for Times Square? Or even Radio City with its gorgeous musical? I mean, if you visit this iconic city, you already know there's so much to see. Like Central Park or the gorgeous cathedrals in Times Square. And don't get me started on the fun attractions like Legoland or Nintendo World or the M&M Shop or Cats. I mean, there's so much to do here. But something that I really enjoyed on my last trip to New York was actually visiting Ellis Island. I took the ferry. with my mom and my partner, and we got to see the Statue of Liberty. This beautiful statue is the symbol of freedom, democracy, and hope. Learning about its history and what it represents, and then even visiting Ellis Island afterwards to learn about the history of immigration, it made me think of the hardships and the hope that so many immigrants had to go to to start a new life. I mean, I took my mom on this trip, a woman born and raised in Bolivia. And I just think of all of the adversity she had to go through just to get to where she is today. And not just her, but also my great-grandma and grandma. Because of these incredible warriors in my life, I'm able to do what I love, and I will forever be grateful and blessed to have them. Definitely check out the Statue of Liberty.
