If Peace and Quiet had a restaurant, it'd be Oni Bandan in Port Coquitlam. The fish tanks hum softly in the background, and really, they're the only company you'll want. Everything's ordered on a touchscreen, so you don't even have to talk to anyone if you don't want to. You can slide into your own private cubby, just you, your food, and blissful silence. And they even have a DIY ramen bar, so you can build your own bowl and mind your own business. The gyudan was tender and rich. The shrimp tempura stayed crisp until the very last bite, and the onigiri trio of tuna, California roll, and beef hit every craving of mine, and I finished off with Japanese soda and cantaloupe and watermelon.
