Choo Sando on Burnet Road is incredibly popular and for good reason. Chef Choo and his team are slinging the best Japanese-style sandos in Austin. Today I decided to try the pork katsu sando. Was it good enough to take the top spot on my list of Austin sandwiches? Everything about this sando hits. The pork cutlet is crispy and juicy. The slaw is refreshing and adds texture, and the milk bread is soft and fluffy. The star of the show though is the katsu sauce. I'm not sure what ingredients Chef uses, but I should've asked for a large cupful to dunk my sandwich in. It's sweet and savory in the best way to complement the other ingredients. I give the pork katsu sando a Choo the top ranking in Austin so far with a stack score of nine point five.
