Lafayette Cemetery No. 1 reopened TODAY after seven years closed to the public. And I was ridiculously excited about it. So I hopped on one streetcar and transferred to another and then headed through the Garden District because there was absolutely no way I was missing day one. By the time I got close, I was practically bouncing down the sidewalk. And then I saw the gate. After seven years, Lafayette Cemetery No. 1 was open again and I was there on the very first day.
